A rational investigation of the principles of bumpology

The idea of Bumpology began while I was pregnant myself just over five years ago - I had trouble finding maternity wear that I felt represented my lifestyle and sense of aesthetic. I was already designing my eponymous collection for Hannah McNicol and realised that a lot of styles that we were making would translate very well into maternity clothing.

We sourced new fabrics and are thrilled to be launching the new 100% organic cotton jerseys and even more exciting is that we have found organic dyers too...I love the idea of ‘chemical free’ maternity wear - wrapping your bump up gently. The dyes are derived from leaves such as mango and indigo leaves - this means the pieces will also fade with time and washing giving you that great ‘favorite t-shirt’ feel!

This first series of styles are what I consider the basics of a maternity wardrobe and we have more up our sleeves, soon to be delivered.

The fundamental aspects of the designs are that they work on the body before, during and after pregnancy - certain styles are perfect for supporting your bump, while others are great for breastfeeding - and all the pieces look great when you're not pregnant!

The chart to the right demonstrates the conventional locations which are studied in the fascinating science of Bumpology.
